This "Pelekas" necklace is the most iconic Carolyn Tyler piece, but she cannot claim credit for the design (see story "The Saga of the Stolen Opal"). The original was purchased in Pelekas, Greece by Carolyn while traveling in 1976, and became a beloved talisman--until it was stolen. Years later, she re-created one in Bali, and a jewelry business was born. This version sports a vivid blue 19.9 carat Australian boulder opal (natural ironstone doublet).
