"Pelekas" Necklace (Ethiopian Opal, 22k Gold) SOLD--MAY ORDER
This is the most iconic Carolyn Tyler piece, and she cannot claim credit for the design (see story "The Saga of the Stolen Opal". The original was purchased in Pelekas, Greece by Carolyn while traveling in 1976, and became a beloved talisman--until it went missing. She re-created one in Bali, and a jewelry business was born. This version sports a 22 carat peach-lavender Ethiopian Welo (hydrophane) opal, but we have others in stock, and we can custom-make one in your choice of stones. 22k handmade gold chain is approximately 17.5". NOTE: Ethiopian opal is very absorbent, so wearing it in water can change the color or make it less fiery--remove for swimming/showering/hand-washing).
