"Pelekas" Necklace (Australian Opal, 22k Gold)

This is the most iconic Carolyn Tyler piece, and yet she doesn't claim credit for the design (see story "The Saga of the Stolen Opal"). The original was purchased in Pelekas, Greece, by Carolyn while traveling in 1976, and became a beloved talisman--until it went missing. She re-created one in Bali, and a jewelry business was born. This version sports a stunning and rare 43 carat blue-lavender Australian opal from the famed Lightning Ridge mine, which doesn't produce quality material like this very often. We have others in stock, and we can custom-make one in your choice of stones. 22k handmade gold chain is 17.5"; egg-shaped gemstone is approximately 1" x 1.5".  This opal is so special that it has earned a place in our Magnum Opus Collection of bespoke jewels.
