"Pelekas" Necklace (Australian Opal, 22k Gold)

This is the most iconic Carolyn Tyler piece, and she cannot claim credit for the design (see story "The Saga of the Stolen Opal"). The original was purchased in Pelekas, Greece by Carolyn while traveling in 1976, and became a beloved talisman--until it went missing. She re-created one in Bali, and a jewelry business was born. This version sports an etherial pear-shaped 11.58 carat blue-green Lightning Ridge Australian "crystal" solid opal, which is extremely rare since this material has been mined-out for many years. The 22k handmade 2mm thick gold chain is approximately 17.5" long.
